Nc’nean Organic Whisky

Hailed as the first net zero whisky distillery in UK, independent Scotch maker Nc'nean has become the first whisky distillery in the UK to achieve net zero emissions. Powered by renewable energy and with whisky bottles made from 100% recycled materials, the distillery prides itself on creating an organic whisky that is produced in complete harmony with its natural surroundings.

Airbikie Nadar Gin

Being the world’s first climate positive gin, our star product by Arbikie Distillery has to be their Nàdar (Gaelic for nature) Gin. By using peas to make the gin, instead of more common base ingredients such as wheat, barley, or maize, Arbikie has been able to eliminate the use of synthetic nitrogen fertiliser, avoiding any negative impact on waterways, air and soil.

Crossbill
Gin

Located in Glasgow’s East End, Crossbill Gin pays homage to Scotland’s natural world by handpicking its Scottish Highland botanicals, wild juniper and rosehip. Working collaboratively with landowners, Crossbill Gin goes to great efforts to maintain and conserve the land ensuring there is plenty of juniper for future gin drinkers.

Discarded Spirits Co.

Pioneering the sustainable spirits movement, Discarded Spirits Co. challenges perceptions of waste and encourages consumers to creatively reuse ingredients otherwise destined for landfill. Creatively utilising waste such as banana peels for rum, grape skins to make vodka and cascara from coffee cherries, Discarded Spirits Co offers an enviable range of sustainable tipples, all in 100% recyclable packaging, from the glass to the cork and label.

Bruichladdich Whisky

Located on Islay, Bruichladdich Distillery was the first in Europe to become a certified B Corporation (B Corp). Capturing its unique whisky flavour profile, the distillery uses barley locally grown on the island and has recently purchased 30 acres of land for research and development on sustainable agriculture. Ditching single use plastic for 100% recyclable alternatives, the distillery is on track to decarbonise its operations by 2025.

Black Isle Brewery Organic Beers

The team at Black Isle Brewery in Inverness works hard to put the planet over profit with their organic malt and hops (grown without chemicals) beers. Leftover grains are used to feed their onsite livestock, and if you’re lucky enough to visit their bars, you’ll find their signature pizzas and salads all served with seasonal, organic ingredients that they grow themselves.

Oglivy Potato Vodka

Despite Vodka’s traditional Russian roots, our innovative Scottish farmers have managed to produce a Scottish version right here in the heart of Angus. After growing frustrated with the number of unwanted potatoes from supermarkets, the Jarron family took to turning surplus, wonky or too small Maris Pipers into Scotland’s first potato vodka.

Jaw Brew Hardtack Beer

Based in Milngavie, Jaw Brew brewery strives to operate in the most sustainable way possible, adopting circular economy principles as an alternative to the traditional linear model of ‘take, make and waste.’ In 2016 they partnered with Aulds the Bakers to create a beer made from the bakery’s unsold morning bread rolls. As a result, Hardtack was born and went on to win a bronze medal in the Scotland Region SIBA (Society of Independent Brewers) awards, beating many large and established brands. Now that’s using your loaf!

Rapscallion
Soda

Glasgow based soft drinks brand Rapscallion Soda was launched with the desire to offer a fresh fruit, low calorie drink, containing no artificial flavouring. Made from high quality, locally sourced ingredients, drinks are flavoured depending on what fruits are currently in season. By syncing their production in line with the seasons, Rapscallion makes for a sustainable and environmentally considerate choice.

Bad Gal Boocha

Heather, a nursing student based in Fife, needed a way to fund her degree and spotted a gap in the market for selling homemade Scottish Kombucha. This led to the creation of Bad Gal Boocha, brewed from their Cupar Muir ‘boochery.’ Inspired by nature and focussed on keeping their footprint as low as possible, bottles can be returned, and all sticky labels have been ditched!

Feragaia

Feragaia, meaning ‘wild earth’ is a sustainable and completely alcohol-free drink made from land and sea botanicals in Scotland. The 14 botanicals are responsibly and locally sourced and are all composted post-distillation. Feragaia's packaging and bottles are fully recyclable and are created with 65-70% recycled glass and 70% bio-plastic lids. The company's long-term mission is to "Keep Earth Wild," and empower their consumers and partners to become active in restoring the landscape’s wilderness. Drygate’s Spare Parts sour beer is brewed from hops grown on-site, donated surplus bread from Tesco and flavoured with the supermarket’s surplus or wonky fruit and veg. This innovative approach shows how collaborating with others can significantly reduce food waste while creating an utterly delicious new brew. We’ll drink to that!

Cushiedoos

To complement our spirits selection, we’ve chosen Edinburgh based tonic water, Cushiedoos. Using a refreshing fusion of Scottish botanicals, they pride themselves on their locally sourced ingredients. Cushiedoos also use pure Scottish mountain water sourced from ancient artisan springs on Deeside, high in the Cairngorms national park, so you know you'll be buying a quality product. But sustainability doesn’t stop at what’s in the bottle - for every 12 bottles of tonic water purchased, Cushiedoos plants a tree, underlining their commitment to giving something back to the environment.

Slange Var

Slange Var makes for another splendid alcohol-free accompaniment to our drink’s cabinet. This Glasgow based brand wanted to create a drink that invites non-alcoholic drinkers to the party. It is made in Govan, located near a community garden where they give their waste from lime and ginger to be composted. In addition to this, they are working on reforestation in the UK and overseas by planting a tree for every purchase. Last year they donated seeds for wildflower gardens to 31 schools in Argyll so the pupils have working laboratories for their studies in biodiversity. This low sugar and low-calorie option is helping to combat climate change and rewild Scotland.
